Re: vcenter and veeam same machine

As it’s been already mentioned, the described scenario is possible and meanwhile not recommended.

 

Below you can find several drawbacks of having vCenter and Veeam Backup & Replication server on the same machine:

 

  • Some considerations should be taken into account while configuring backup/replication job of this VM. Namely, you have to configure the backup job for this VM using standalone ESX(i) host and Network mode without VSS.

  • Another thing you should be worried about is that the role of default proxy is played by VB&R server. It, in its turn, might create additional resource load on the given VM.

  • Additionally, if you deploy Veeam Enterprise Manager on the same VM, there will be some issues related to Tomcat and IIS co-existence.
