I've got a quick follow up question on this information. When you say "we will force the linked clone chain to migrate to the next datastore", does that mean the whole chain up to that point is migrated to the new datastore? Or, does it mean that only the new links are migrated?
I'd be concerned if a datastore only has one chain that gets fully migrated to an empty datastore of the same size. It seems like you'd be in the same situation immediately.
